Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA) has appointed Marcus Osegowitsch as its new Managing Director, effective 1 April 2026.

Osegowitsch brings more than 30 years of global experience across senior leadership, market development and operational transformation within the Volkswagen Group. As Australia’s largest European automotive importer, VGA operates in a highly competitive and fast-moving environment.
The new managing director has held senior executive roles in several strategically important markets for the Volkswagen Group. He served as Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Italia and General Director of Volkswagen Group Russia, overseeing multi-brand operations spanning production, sales and brand management.
Earlier in his career, Osegowitsch held senior roles in Group Sales and Supply Chain. Prior to joining the Volkswagen Group, he was a Partner at an international consulting firm advising automotive and industrial clients on strategy and transformation.
Osegowitsch will lead Volkswagen Group’s operations in Australia across its five brands: Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles, Audi, Škoda, CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
“Australia is one of the most exciting and important markets for the Volkswagen Group,” Osegowitsch said.
“Our priority is to deepen our engagement with Australian customers and deliver mobility solutions, service excellence and brand experiences that truly reflect their needs today and tomorrow. By leveraging the heritage that anchors our brands and the innovative direction we are charting for the future, we will create a uniquely strong position in Australia – one that delivers outstanding value to our customers, dealers, partners and sets a benchmark for the Group worldwide.”
Volkswagen Group Australia has thanked Jeff Mannering, who served as Interim Managing Director since January 2026 while continuing as Brand Director of Audi Australia. With this appointment, Mannering will resume his full focus on leading Audi Australia.
Under Osegowitsch’s leadership, Volkswagen Group Australia will continue to advance its electric mobility strategy, strengthen its national dealer network and enhance customer experience across its diverse brand portfolio.
