EV Dealer Group has dominated BYD Australia’s 2025 Dealer of the Year Awards, with its BYD Sutherland, BYD North Lakes and BYD St Marys dealerships winning all three national dealer categories.

The annual awards recognise exceptional performance, leadership and commitment to delivering outstanding customer outcomes, based on customer feedback and performance results. National awards are grouped into categories based on market size, while regional awards acknowledge standout performance across state territories.

BYD Australia Chief Operating Officer Stephen Collins said the awards reflect the strength of the BYD dealer network across Australia and the brand’s commitment to provide a great customer experience.

“We are passionate about delivering our customers the best experience as we continue to grow BYD in Australia,” Collins said.

“BYD’s Dealer of the Year Awards recognises the teams who set the benchmark within their categories. They are connecting with their local communities and striving for excellence.”

Collins also acknowledged the broader dealer network for their collective contribution to BYD’s continued growth in the Australian market. “While today we celebrate our highest achievers, we want to thank every dealer across the network for their dedication and commitment over the past year. The success of BYD in Australia is built on the strength of this collective effort.”

EV Dealer Group CEO David Smitherman said the recognition of three of its dealerships reflects the group’s focus on consistent execution, strong local engagement and delivering a seamless experience for BYD customers.

“To have all National Dealer of the Year recipients represented within the EV Dealer Group network is an achievement we are incredibly proud of,” Smitherman said.

“Our teams across Sutherland, North Lakes, and St Marys are deeply embedded in their communities and committed to raising the bar for customer service. We remain focused on doing the fundamentals well and supporting the continued growth of BYD across Australia.”

Network expansion continues

BYD Australia is represented by more than 100 dealer partners across major metro, provincial and rural centres, with aims to increase the dealer footprint to beyond 150 authorised sales and services stores around mid-year.

The 2025 award recipients were BYD Sutherland winning National Dealer of the Year Category A, BYD North Lakes taking Category B, and BYD St Marys claiming Category C and D.

Regional awards saw BYD North Lakes win the Northern Region covering Queensland and Northern Territory, BYD Waverley take the Southern Region for Victoria and Tasmania, BYD Sutherland claim the Eastern Region for New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory, and BYD St Marys win the Western Region covering Western Australia and South Australia.
