Used car platform Cars24 is running an end-of-financial-year (EOFY) sale until 30 June 2026, offering up to $5,000 off selected vehicles alongside two customer protection guarantees the company says are designed to address growing buyer hesitancy in the current economic climate.
The campaign, which began on 20 May 2026, covers around 30% of the company’s national inventory across its Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane operations. Terms and conditions and eligibility criteria apply.
Cars24 says the initiative reflects a shift in what Australian used car buyers are prioritising. Rather than simply seeking the lowest price, the company says consumers are increasingly focused on certainty and transparency before committing to a major purchase — a trend it attributes to sustained cost-of-living pressures.
“Australians don’t just want a deal anymore, they want confidence they’re making the right choice,” Cars24 spokesperson Andrew Dodd said in a statement. “People are spending more time comparing prices, weighing up options, and trying to avoid overpaying or getting stuck with the wrong decision.”
Two guarantees underpin the offer
The EOFY campaign is built around two customer protections. The first is Cars24’s Price Match Guarantee, an ongoing proposition that allows eligible customers to request a matched price if they find a lower publicly advertised price on a comparable vehicle elsewhere, subject to eligibility criteria.
The second is its 30-Day Return Guarantee, which Cars24 describes as an industry first. The company says the return policy, recently launched, is intended to give buyers greater confidence when purchasing a used vehicle online — a segment where uncertainty around vehicle condition and value has historically been a barrier.
“We’re seeing buyers place greater importance on certainty and transparency, particularly when it comes to major purchases like a car,” Dodd said. “Customers want to know they’ve made the right call, so they can focus on finding the right car, not second guessing themselves.”
Small SUVs and EVs among featured categories
Cars24 says small sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and electric vehicles (EVs) are among the categories included in the EOFY sale, reflecting what it describes as a spike in demand for both segments. The company attributes growing interest in EVs and fuel-efficient models to rising fuel costs and increased buyer focus on long-term ownership value.
The EOFY campaign forms part of a broader strategy by Cars24 to reposition online used car buying around trust and transparency. The company, which describes itself as a global car-tech business valued at more than USD $3.3 billion, says it operates a digital-first model combining AI-driven pricing, vehicle refurbishment, and end-to-end logistics. According to Cars24, each vehicle in its inventory is professionally inspected and refurbished prior to sale.
The Cars24 EOFY sale runs until 11:59pm AEST on 30 June 2026. Further information is available at www.cars24.com.au.
