Chery Australia has opened its 100th dealership, a showroom run by Eagers Automotive inside Indooroopilly Shopping Centre in Brisbane.

The store sits within Eagers’ Automall West site at the centre. AutoTalk reported the Automall West plan in 2021, when Eagers signed a deal with AMP Capital to open sales and service facilities in the shopping centre, including a 12-bay rooftop quick service area.

“Reaching 100 dealerships is a significant achievement for Chery Australia and a reflection of the confidence our dealer partners have in the brand and our long-term commitment to the Australian market,” says Chery Australia chief operating officer Lucas Harris.

“Our rapid expansion has been driven by strong customer demand for Chery vehicles, and reaching 100 dealerships means we can bring our products and customer experience to even more Australians.”

Gordon Haining, executive general manager at Eagers, says the group is increasing its representation with Chery in Queensland.

“Indooroopilly is an ideal location, giving customers in Brisbane and surrounding areas convenient access to the Chery brand in a high-profile retail environment,” he says.

Chery sold 4,205 new vehicles in Australia in September, up 21.8% on the same month last year, and placed 10th in the September brand rankings.

The brand’s local range covers hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric models, and the Stockman diesel plug-in hybrid ute is still to come.
