The Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC) has appointed Peter Jones as its new chief executive from February 2025.

He graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds qualifications in Accounting, Economics, and Asian Studies.

VACC president Craig Beruldsen says Jone’s appointment, which followed an extensive search process, marks a new chapter for the organisation.

“Peter’s appointment demonstrates VACC’s commitment to strong industry leadership as we navigate a period of significant transformation in the automotive sector,” Beruldsen says.

“His proven track record in driving organisational growth and deep understanding of the automotive and finance sectors make him ideally suited to lead VACC into its next development phase.”

Jones will join VACC after serving as managing director of Nissan Financial Services Australia and New Zealand and Nissan Casting Australia, where he led transformational growth initiatives and strengthened industry relationships.

Most recently, as chairperson of the Australian Finance Industry Association board, Jones played a pivotal role in industry development and regulatory engagement. In 2024, he was inducted into the Australian Finance Industry Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the industry.

Jones says he looks forward to leading VACC at this crucial time for the automotive industry.

“The automotive industry is experiencing unprecedented change, creating challenges and opportunities for businesses across Victoria,” Jones says.

“VACC has a proud history of supporting and advocating for its members, and I am excited to work with the team to build on this strong foundation as we help shape the future of our industry.”
