Prices on almost every model in Toyota’s line-up are set to rise on January 1, 2023, according to a memo issued to the company’s Australian dealer network.
Prices are set to rise between $250 and $3800 across all models, with the brand citing “increased costs and inflationary pressures here and overseas” as well as range updates, according to Drive.
Only some customers with outstanding pre-orders for new models have a level of price protection.
Those who ordered vehicles prior to May 16, 2022, will reportedly escape the higher prices. Those who ordered after that date, however, are expected to be stung. Customers can claim a refund on their deposit if they are unhappy with the price hike.
Toyota dealers have reportedly been warning customers of the potential price changes from May 16 onwards.
The Toyota Hiace bus is set to receive the largest price bump of $3800, with the very in-demand Land Cruiser 300 Series not far behind with a $3500 price hike.
The Fortuna, Granvia, Land Cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser 70 Series, and Toyota Camry SX all incur a $2000 price increase.
The C-HR, Yaris, Yaris Cross, Kluger, Hilux 4×2 Work Mate and SR5, the Hiace van, RAV4, and Camry petrol inherit price rises of between $800 and $1600.
The Corolla hatch and sedan and Hilux 4×4 incur the smallest price hikes, with only the latter’s Work Mate, SR single-cab, and SR5 auto being slapped with a relatively minor $250 increase.
