Suzuki Swarm set to buzz at Samford Showgrounds

There may not be any beehives at the Samford Showgrounds, but Suzuki Queensland’s marketing manager, Jake Tobin, hopes to witness the greatest swarm in Australia at the semi-rural enclave just west of Brisbane.

There is not so much a buzz of z’s as of s’s in the form of a Suzuki Swarm event, as owners of Suzuki vehicles congregation gather in one place.

He’s confident that Queensland’s love of the Suzuki brand – heralded by the highest per capita ownership of Suzuki Jimnys in Australia – will boost attendance at the swarm of vehicles with the Suzuki badge on their grilles.

Not just Jimny owners, but all models from all years, whether still a current nameplate like Swift, Vitara, Ignis, S-Cross and Vitara, or much-loved models from yesteryear including the Hatch 550 and 800; Cappuccino, X90, Mighty Boy, Kizashi; Sierra; XL7; Baleno, SX4, Alto and Celerio; Liana; Wagon R; Carry and APV vans.

“Road cars, frugal commercial vehicles, off-road superheroes – any vehicle that wears a Suzuki badge on the grille will be welcome,” said Tobin.

The Suzuki Swarm will be held on April 20. While attendance and participation in the fun social event will be free, all vehicles must be pre-registered on the Suzuki Queensland website:https://suzukiqld.com.au/theswarm/.

Complimentary food and drink will be available on-site. Top-rated radio personality Stav Davidson from B105 will host the event.

“A key part of the day will be a processional drive around the neighbouring locale. We will email details to participants once they have registered,” said Tobin.

“The showgrounds can only accommodate an event of up to 700 vehicles so that pre-registering will be very important.”

Suzuki community clubs, including JB74 Qld and North Brisbane Suzuki 4×4, will support the event.

“This is a great opportunity for people to meet like-minded Suzuki owners, have a great day out in the Samford Valley, for the youngsters to have fun in some special games and for enthusiasts to compare vehicle notes, mods and memorable tales,” said Tobin.

“Register and come along for the buzz.”
