Repco and DJR Team Penske signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement that sees the parts supplier become a partner of the Shell V-Power Racing Team.
The team races in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
Repco has been involved in several motorsport partnerships over the years, including Jack Brabham’s 1966 Formula 1 World Championship win and Kiwi Denny Hulme in 1967.
Wayne Bryant, executive general manager of Repco Australia, says that the company is making a long overdue return to Supercars racing.
“We are incredibly proud of Repco’s impressive history in motorsport across Australia and the world, so returning to Supercars feels like a homecoming.
“This decision was not just about sticking a logo on a car, Repco are looking to create deep engagement with motoring enthusiasts across Australia and New Zealand.”
DJR Team Penske managing director, Ryan Story, says having Repco join the team is an important moment in Australian motorsport.
“This is no small thing to bring Repco back into Australian motorsport, and to be the team they’ve chosen to partner with is a source of immense pride for all of us at Shell V-Power Racing Team.
The Shell V-Power Racing Team will take to the track this weekend, September 14 to 16, at the Sandown 500 – the first round of the 2018 Pirtek Enduro Cup.
