More than thirty rare limited release number plates will go under the hammer on Thursday, June 6 in this year’s number plate auction by Evans Clarke, national auctioneers.
The auction is an opportunity for investors, car enthusiasts and collectors to secure a piece of South Australian motoring history and complete their vehicle.
It will feature 30 numeric number plates from the original series, with 32 in total available, issued from 1906 to 1966.
The value of these number plates has continued to grow in recent years, making them excellent long term investments.
Five 3-digit plates, with the lowest plate number this year being 484, thirteen 4-digit plates, eight 5-digit plates and six 6-digit plates are up for grabs, each classically presented with white numbers on a black background with the letters ‘SA’ set vertically on the left.

The number plates can be fixed only to vehicles registered in South Australia.
