A new overseas scholarship for automotive designers has been announced by the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce.
The Australian Overseas Foundation (AOF) / VACC Automotive Design Awards’ scholarship will be awarded to a tertiary level entrant to the 2013 VACC auto design awards and announced on June 20 at Federation Square.
The event is also supported by local manufacturers Ford, Holden and Toyota.
The scholarship will be managed by the AOF which every year provides funds for young trades men and women to go abroad to learn more about their chosen career and gain valuable life experiences.
“Victoria is the home of Australia’s automotive design industry and local designers are responsible for some of the world’s most popular vehicles. The scholarship is available to tertiary level entrants only of the design competition, and is a wonderful opportunity for a Victorian student to travel overseas and learn more about automotive design,” says David Purchase, VACC executive director.
