Audi Australia and Origin are together launching a new free charging plan for Audi e-tron owners in addition to the partnerships existing offers.
Launching in April, the Origin EV Energy Plan will be available for both existing and new Audi e-tron owners, enabling them to charge their vehicles for free between 10am and 3pm daily.
Origin like Audi, says it shares a significant heritage of innovation as well as a long-term goal to be carbon-neutral by 2050.
“Origin is committed to helping get more EVs on the road and to do this we need to make it easier and more affordable for people to get into their first EV, and then support them at all points of their EV journey,” Origin e-mobility general manager Chau Le says.
Origin’s EV Energy Plan also includes off-peak rates between the hours of 1am-6am.
This is designed to help encourage electric vehicle owners to charge their vehicles when energy demand across the National Electricity Market (NEM) is lowest and wholesale energy prices are cheapest, instead of charging during the evening peak.
The partnership will offer Audi e-tron owners access to Origin’s EV Energy Plan with 100% GreenPower for 12 months for their home.
Furthermore, owners can also receive a discount on Smart EV Charger installation in their home through Origin that can be automatically set up to optimise charging times, providing EV drivers with smarter solutions to charge their electric vehicles.
“This new home-charging offer with Origin, in combination with the existing EV offers exclusively available for Audi e-tron customers presents a more sustainable ecosystem for both public and home charging,” Audi Australia director Jeff Mannering says.
“This holistic approach sets the standard for supporting those driving electric vehicles – those leading the charge for more sustainably-focused lifestyles and mobility.”
Audi Australia offers all e-tron vehicles – including e-tron SUV, e-tron Sportback and e-tron GT models – with an offer that includes a six-year subscription to the Chargefox charging network. This means e-tron owners have access to unlimited charging on all ultra-rapid and selected fast and standard chargers within the Chargefox network.
All Chargefox ultra-rapid EV chargers are also backed with 100% GreenPower.
In addition to this a six-year Chargefox charging subscription, all Audi e-trons come with complimentary six-year Audi scheduled servicing and six-year Audi Roadside Assistance.
The Origin EV Energy Plan is available to eligible Audi e-tron customers in Victoria, New South Wales, South-East Queensland, ACT and South Australia. Origin Energy is not active in the Westerns Australian and Tasmanian electricity markets, and as a result, customers in these regions are not eligible to receive this offer.
To opt in, Audi e-tron owners will need to be an existing Origin customer or will have to make the switch from their current provider to Origin. More information on this offer will be available closer to launch.
