Nissan’s Leaf electric car is now available from $39,990 drive-away, down from its previous drive-away price of $46,990.
The company says the offer is designed not only to broaden the Leaf’s appeal, but to capture the attention of buyers considering an EV who may have previously been put off by the comparatively higher purchase price typically associated with the vehicles.
Accompanying this offer is a weekly repayment offer: a new Nissan Leaf from only $85 per week with a 1.9% p.a comparison rate.
“Nissan has taken a number of pioneering steps with the Leaf,” says William F. Peffer Jr., managing director and CEO at Nissan Australia. “This is an exceptional car and we are keen to make it more appealing to Australian new-car buyers.
“The Leaf should be on the shopping list of every small car buyer,” he says.
The offer is valid until October 30 this year.
World-wide, more than 50,000 Nissan Leaf EVs have been sold since its release.
The Leaf has been acclaimed globally, winning the 2011 World Car of the Year, 2011 European Car of the Year, and 2011-12 Japan Car of the Year, as well as being recognised in non-motoring awards, such as Time Magazine’s Top 50 Inventions of 2009.
