Mitsubishi’s new MY14 Pajero is now on sale, starting from $50,990.
The range now carries a 5-star ANCAP rating, with standard safety equipment including Mitsubishi’s RISE body protection along with front driver and passenger, side and curtain SRS airbags, seat belt reminders, ISOFIX child restraints (July onwards) and reversing cameras.
All variants are equipped with Mitsubishi ‘all terrain technology’ (MATT) which delivers good off-road control and on-road safety and handling, with rear differential lock standard across the range.
MATT incorporates a number of systems including active stability and traction control, ABS braking with EBD and ‘super select II’ 4WD, allowing the driver to alternate between 2WD and 4WD modes at speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour on any surface.
The range features a 3.2-litre common rail turbo diesel engine. This outputs 147kW of power at 3800 rpm and 441Nm of torque at 2000rpm, returning fuel efficiency of 9.0L/100kms.
Pajero has a three-tonne towing capacity and can seat up to seven people.
