Matthew Hansen · 0 comments

Mitsubishi Motors Australia has revealed its 2023 Triton line-up, confirming various price rises and the phasing out of petrol powertrains.

GLX, GLX-R, GLX+, and GLS trims will be on offer, with the line-up led by the GSR and a new racier trim called the Sport Edition.

Regardless of trim choice, buyers get a familiar 2.4-litre turbodiesel making 133kW of power and 430Nm of torque. All models come with a 6-speed automatic, with selected models available with a 6-speed manual.

The update brings two notable firsts. For the first time the Triton won’t be offered in Australia with a petrol powertrain option. For the first time, the nameplate will also not be available for less than $30,000.

Instead, Triton pricing kicks off at $30,740 for the base GLX single-cab 4×2. The most affordable 4×4, also a GLX single-cab, is priced from $37,490. The pairing have had price adjustments of $1500 each, respectively.

At the other end of the scale, the volume seller dual-cab 4×4 GLX-R auto and premium GLS 4×4 auto are priced from $47,940 and $51,490 each.

Finally, the new Sport Edition [pictured] is priced from $56,440. It comes with all of the same equipment as the GLS dual-cab (including an electric front seat, heated front seats, and a surround-view camera), while also adding red exterior accents black leather upholstery with red stitching.

Changes from the outgoing model are mild. They include black running boards becoming standard on GLX models, while GLX-R and GLS grades get a new touchscreen with satnav, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

All models come with Mitsubishi’s 5-plus-5-year/200,000 factory warranty for models serviced solely at Mitsubishi dealerships.

“We are very proud of Triton’s market performance throughout 2022,” says Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO, Shaun Westcott.

“As part of continually evolving our product offer, we now welcome the new, limited-production Triton Sport Edition to Australia.

“This vehicle is perfectly placed to appeal to those who value a uniquely sporting style, combined with the capability, functionality and practicality that Triton is renowned for.”
