Mini hits record September as next-gen models lift Australian sales

Autotalk · 0 comments

Mini has posted record September and third-quarter results in Australia, with 525 registrations for the month contributing to 4,284 sales year-to-date (January–September) — up 61% on the same period in 2024.

The performance was driven by the new-generation Mini Cooper, Mini Aceman and Mini Countryman. The Countryman led the range with 1,746 sales — 41% of Mini’s total — followed by the Cooper (1,726), Aceman (537) and Cabrio (275). Mini says it is on track for a new full-year record, needing only five more sales to surpass its 2023 best.

Electric models accelerated 149% year-to-date and now account for 38% of Mini’s volume. The fully electric Aceman led the EV charge with 537 sales. John Cooper Works (JCW) performance variants, launched across the line-up in April, contributed more than 20% of total sales.

The Countryman — the brand’s largest model and winner of the 2025 Drive Car of the Year award for Best Small SUV Under $80,000 — was the top seller.

“Mini continues to resonate with Australians who value style, driving enjoyment, and innovation,” said Alexander Brockhoff, general manager, Mini Australia.

“The popularity of our new generation models showcases the brand’s new design philosophy of ‘Charismatic Simplicity,’ which pays homage to the minimalist design of the classic Mini while delivering vehicles that are sustainable, digitally focused, and emotionally true to Mini’s design DNA.

“We’re thrilled to see the Mini thriving and look forward to building on this momentum through the remainder of 2025,” Brockhoff added.
