MG Motor Australia will unveil five brand-new vehicles set to hit Australian roads, debuting in a reveal at the Melbourne Motor Show on the weekend of April 5-6.
This unveiling marks a significant moment for MG in Australia. Moving into a range of new vehicle segments, MG seeks to continue to build on its position as a top ten vehicle manufacturer in Australia.
Leading this unveiling will be the introduction of IM Presented by MG Motor. The brand’s Australian debut will include the launch of two models that showcase IM’s signature design, premium quality and advanced technology.
IM5 and IM6
IM Motors is an electric vehicle joint venture between Chinese automobile manufacturer SAIC Motor and Chinese technology companies including Alibaba Group.
IM stands for Intelligence in Motion, and the vehicles are synonymous with premium finishes, high performance and innovative technology. In Australia, the brand will be known as IM Presented by MG Motor.
Debuting at the Melbourne Motor Show will be two new EVs to the Australian market.
The IM5 is a 4-door sedan, while the IM6 is a SUV. Both vehicles bring an array of new technology to the market and showcase the innovation, luxury and elegance Australians will soon come to expect from IM vehicles.

MGS5 EV
Hot off its global reveal in Europe, the MGS5 EV will be shown for the first time in Australia at the Melbourne Motor Show. Built on the same platform as the MG4, the MGS5 EV is an SUV that is sure to connect with Australian motorists.
The compact SUV will be the first of the new cars unveiled at the Melbourne Motor Show to roll into MG dealerships in Australia and New Zealand.
MG QS
The QS represents a new vehicle segment for MG. The seven-seat SUV will be a hit with Australian families, providing room for the whole family to hit the road. Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, the QS will impress with its design, styling and size.
MG HS Hybrid+
The all-new HS Hybrid+ SUV will have the covers taken off for its first reveal in Australia ahead of arriving in MG dealerships in the second half of this year. Using MG’s new hybrid technology will ensure families get fuel economy at all times while enjoying the space the car offers.
“This is a momentous milestone for MG as we unveil the next chapter of our journey in Australia – doubling our range and expanding into new segments,” MG Motor Australia and New Zealand chief executive Peter Ciao says.
“We’ve seen strong growth over the past decade, and we’re setting our sights even higher for the years ahead as we aim to be a top five-selling manufacturer by 2027 and top three by 2030. Our ambition is to offer Australians a quality vehicle at every $10,000 price point, and this expanded line-up brings us one step closer to making that a reality.
“At MG, we’re committed to delivering best-in-class value across every segment, with a vehicle for every Australian motorist – no matter your lifestyle or life stage. From cutting-edge EVs to spacious hybrids and luxury models, our line-up reflects our promise to offer high-quality, technology-led options that meet the diverse needs of Australian drivers,” he says.
These models will all be on display at the MG stand at the Melbourne Motor Show, alongside the Cyberster, on the April 5-6 weekend.
