Chrysler is recalling 469,000 SUVs globally to fix an electrical problem that may cause the vehicle to automatically slip out of gear.
The recall affects around 5000 vehicles in Australia and includes models of the Jeep Commander and Jeep Grand Cherokee manufactured between 2005 and 2010.
The company says a problem in some circuit boards is resulting in the vehicle’s transmission shifting itself into neutral.
Fiat Chrysler Australia says affected owners are being contacted and the repair will take around 30 minutes to complete and no charge to the owner.
