Hyundai’s limited edition hot hatch arriving Q4

Robert Barry · 0 comments

Hyundai Australia says it will receive 180 units of the newly developed i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition high-performance hatchback in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The brand says it will make 800 units of the limited edition vehicle, with 620 units allocated to Hyundai Motor Europe and the balance allocated to Australia

To develop the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition, Hyundai says it enhanced the current i30 N using feedback from media and the market, as well as inspiration from N-enthusiasts – its community of Hyundai N fans – who have already been busy modifying their own i30 Ns.

The production run of 800 vehicles will be available in two body colours, Phantom Black Pearl and the new Serenity White Pearl. In addition the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition will come fully equipped, including a rear stiffness bar, a glass roof, and Hyundai Smart Sense active safety features.

The i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition will be offered with either a manual transmission or N DCT, Hyundai’s in-house developed eight-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission.

Production began in the last week of April, and of the 180 units reserved for Australia, 70% will be have the N DCT and 30% will have the manual transmission.

Hyundai Australia says 70% of production for this market will come in the new Serenity White Pearl paint and 30% in the Phantom Black Pearl.

The exterior will feature 19-inch forged alloy wheels in a dark bronze matte finish; black Hyundai badges; special decals on the side, front and rear; and two dedicated Drive-N badges in dark bronze matte on the side fenders.

The badges on the i30 N Drive‑N Limited Edition also display the GPS coordinates of the home of the N models, the Hyundai Motor Europe Test Centre at Nürburgring in Germany.

The interior of each unit is outfitted with a unique numbered badge, depicting its position among the limited volume of 800 total units. Instead of leather, Alcantara with red stitching will cover the steering wheel, gear lever, armrest, and handbrake. All accents decorating the interior will be in red colour.

This applies to the seat belts in the front and rear, the steering wheel N buttons, the inserts and stitching of the N Light Seats with its new pattern. The i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition also has exclusive floor mats with specific lettering.

Hyundai Australia says the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition is based on the current 2021 i30 N Premium (sunroof) variant, with the inclusion of the Limited Edition features mentioned above, at a small additional cost.

It says customers should register their interest with their local Hyundai dealer.
