Holden scammers enter not guilty plea

Administrator · 0 comments

Five people accused of stealing $2.5 million worth of hi-tech car parts from carmaker Holden are maintaining their innocence.

Holden employees Jason Paul Walton, Jason James Gangell, Michelle Carol Rose and Cosimo Antonio Rullo, along with stunt driver Robin Gerald Bolger, have pleaded not guilty to engaging in money laundering and dishonestly taking property without the owner’s consent.

Richard Andres Jorqeura and Darren Charles Thorne are yet to respond to the charges.

The group allegedly stole 180 V8 engines and parts from Holden’s Elizabeth plant between January 2010 and December 2011.

The hi-tech V8 motors retail for $10,000 each through authorised Holden dealers.

Prosecutors will allege they were being sold for between $1500 and $2000 on the black market to enthusiasts for off-road race cars.

All seven of the accused will face court again on Thursday, August 28.
