Former SA Holden dealer opens all-makes service centre

Robert Barry · 0 comments

The Peter Page Automotive Group has opened a new Holden Certified and all-makes AC Delco service centre in Portside South Australia.

The family-owned business was founded as Holden dealership in 1971 and says it is passionate about providing quality service to Holden owners and their vehicles.

Fast-forward to 2022, and it is two Page brothers, Paul and Luke, who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the business.

The new Portside facility, under both the Holden and AC Delco banners, adds to their existing Holden Service outlet at Elizabeth.

“Holden and the GM brand have had such a strong presence in the western side of Adelaide for almost 100 years,” Luke Page.

“This is a fitting location for the new store as it’s just up the road from the original manufacturing site on Port Rd at Woodville (which opened in 1926) and is directly between the former Port Adelaide dealership premises.

“The people of this area have been brand loyal for so long, so it’s important to us that we are able to look after their motoring needs and servicing requirements,” he says.

The service facility reaffirms the commitment by General Motors Australia and New Zealand (GMANZ) to Holden owners for the ongoing provision of Holden genuine parts, certified service and warranty work.

“The Portside Service Centre adds to the 200 facilities across Australia and New Zealand looking after the vehicle servicing needs of more than 1.6-million Holdens on the road today,” GMANZ aftersales director Paul Rietveld says.

“Now under one roof, trained technicians using quality Holden Genuine and all-makes AC Delco parts can service the needs of not just Holden owners, but also the motoring needs of most vehicle owners in the Portside and wider area.

“We anticipate there will be a growing demand for all-makes servicing as the average age of vehicles increases and they are no longer covered by brand-specific scheduled servicing agreements.

“AC Delco all-makes products have an excellent reputation for quality and affordability, so it’s logical that customers are demanding the use of AC Delco for their vehicle servicing requirements,” Rietveld says.

The first AC Delco store in Australia opened in Maroochydore in June 2021, with four more in various stages of completion at locations including Werribee and Vermont in Victoria as well as new sites at Fremantle and Midland in WA.
