Tesla for Sydney office tower tenants

Geoff Dobson · 0 comments

Sydney’s Grosvenor Place tenants will be offered a Tesla Model 3 SR Plus to hire through EV sharing service Ohmie Go.

Tenants of the 44-level office tower with a ground floor retail plaza and parking for 500 cars can access the Tesla via their phone app and collect the EV from its top floor parking bay for an hour, a day, overnight or over a weekend from $15 an hour to under $200 a weekend.

The fully flexible offer will create an added incentive to head back to the office, the building’s executive director John Derrick says.

No additional charges apply, such as distance travelled or membership fees. The service is end-to-end and covers cleaning of the vehicle on return plus all charging, insurance and maintenance.

Derrick says Grosvenor Place tenants are the perfect fit for the Ohmie Go Tesla with their desire for premium and aspirational offers and their environmental and sustainably focused values.

He says the partnership adds to the building’s impressive environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance where sustainability is a priority from building infrastructure made from the recycled Simply Cups scheme they support and the first waste food dehydrator installed in any office tower in the country.

Tenants can now fully exercise their own environmental standards by cycling into the office to take advantage of the building’s five-star end of trip facilities and bike parking and servicing station, then swap into the emission-free Tesla for a meeting trip, Derrick explains.

“The electrification transport revolution is coming and we intend to be at the forefront with this offer and our own provision of recharging bays to be able to quickly scale up to meet demand,” he adds.

Ohmie Go growth head Max Millett says Grosvenor Place is at the leading edge of a trend forecast across the commercial and residential building sector.

The company has been growing its network for its electric Mobilty as a Service (eMasS) offering across Australia where demand is high for sustainable transport.

“The office environment is one of the next frontiers – Australians really want to get behind the electric vehicle transition and Ohmie Go’s shared amenity is the perfect entry point,” Millett says.

Derrick says more than $32 million has been spent in the last financial year in continuing the building’s investment in being at the forefront of tenant services and benefits.

That includes lobby refurbishment, installation of new destination control technology in the lifts allowing travellers to move faster and with touchless control via a phone or card, plus the newly installed Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) delivering digital real-time airflow and air conditioning

Adjoining Circular Quay, Grosvenor Place includes The Morrison Hotel and the heritage listed Royal Naval House and Johnson’s Building.
