Cupra Australia confirms 2022 range and pricing

Robert Barry · 0 comments
The Formentor, a World Car of the Year Finalist, comes to Australia in July with a line-up that is unique in both its performance focus and stylised design.

Cupra Australia has confirmed that driveaway pricing on the forthcoming Leon hatchback, Formentor Crossover and the Ateca SUV will include a three-year complementary servicing offer.

Orders for the Cupra range of vehicles are set to commence from early June according to the local distributor.

“The desirability of our highly-specified three-model range is now matched by driveaway pricing that offers great value plus a complimentary three-year servicing offer and a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty,” Cupra Australia’s head of product and planning Jeff Shafer says.

“From $43,990 plus on-road costs through to a maximum $66,990 driveaway, our trio of Leon hatchback, Formentor crossover and Ateca SUV offer exactly what Australians are looking for – all sharing key performance, technology and design DNA.”

He says the Cupra brand will usher in progressive technologies, including two plug-in hybrid electric vehicles – Leon VZe and Formentor VZe.

The Leon spans V (pre-orders from Q3 2022), VZ, VZe and VZx specification, including 2.0-litre turbo 140kW/320Nm, 180kW/370Nm, 180kW/400Nm (including electric motor) and 221kW/400Nm outputs respectively.

The Formentor is expected to be the top-selling Cupra model in Australia, mirroring the grade names of the Leon with the addition of 4Drive all-wheel drive on the V and VZx, a high-performance 228kW flagship output and the additional flexibility of a spacious crossover bodystyle.

The Ateca is exclusively available as VZx with 221kW/400Nm, standard 4Drive all-wheel drive and 4.9-second 0-100km/h performance, as an ideal flagship SUV for performance focused Australian customers.

Depending on the variant, Cupra offers design and high performance personalisation options including Matte Paint (Leon and Formentor VZx), Brembo Brakes (all VZx variants) and Akropovic Exhaust (Ateca VZx).

All Cupra models include a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.
