Chargefox is raising prices by 50% at its fastest 350kW DC stations from May 9 this year.
It launched in 2018 at 40 cents per kWh, but the ultra-rapid chargers will soon cost 60c per kWh with the introductory pricing offer set to expire on May 9.
That could put up the charging cost by around $20 for a full charge.
Chargefox’s increase will bring it into line with the Evie network’s 350kW charging price.
However, prices for the rest of Chargefox’s EV chargers won’t change, and members of Australian motoring clubs will continue to get discounts while anyone buying a new EV that gets free charging in the manufacturer’s deal will also have that honoured.
Chargefox’s network comprises more than 1400 plugs, and includes standard AC (22kW), fast (50kW) and ultra-rapid (350kW) chargers.
It’s expected to add another 4000 plugs to its network by the end of 2025, of which about half will offer 50kW or 350kW ultra-rapid charging.
