Jaguar Land Rover Australia (JLRA) hosted an invitation-only opportunity for media, clients and VIP guests, to preview the new Range Rover Sport at Carriageworks in Sydney.
Guests were invited to experience the latest evolution of the Range Rover Sport from Jaguar Land Rover chief creative officer Professor Gerry McGovern through a sensorial evening.
Multiple touchpoints throughout the evening showcased the refinement and luxury of the Range Rover brand.
“It brings us great pleasure to present the first viewing in Australia of the latest evolution from the Range Rover Family, the Range Rover Sport,” JLRA managing director Penny Ferguson says.
“The Range Rover Sport sets new standards in luxury SUV with its peerless refinement, perfectly balanced performance, technology, and design. It is all about redefining sporting luxury,” she says.
The evening was an immersive display of cinematic drama, and live music whilst displaying the never seen before model on Australian shores.
The guest journey began on the red carpet, descending into the industrial space illuminated with graphical lighting and floor-to-ceiling visuals of the Icelandic spillway. This cinematic homage transported guests into a giant canyon of Icelandic rock with the sensation of ice-cold water rushing rapidly around them and underfoot.
An hour into the event, the room descended into darkness, only for the space to be illuminated with LEDs of rushing water cascading down the walls, evocative of those seen in Range Rover Sport’s Spillway Film.
The film gained extreme popularity, viewed over one million times on YouTube, and starred James Bond’s official stunt driver Jessica Hawkins behind the wheel. Hawkins dynamically and gracefully demonstrates the Range Rover Sports capabilities grip, traction and performance.
Following the reveal of the new models, television hosts Mark Beretta, and Nikki Phillips addressed the crowd, bringing to life the numerous features of the new Range Rover Sport and inviting guests to explore the vehicles.
Guests were captivated by performances from the Sneaky Sound System, and the dynamic dancers from Sydney Dance Company.
The new Range Rover Sport is available in, SE, HSE and Autobiography specifications, with a First Edition available throughout the first year of production featuring a specially curated specification.
A suite of efficient powertrains includes a six-cylinder extended range Electric Hybrid, a potent new V8 and mild hybrid six-cylinder petrol and diesel Ingenium engines. Pure-electric propulsion will be introduced in 2024, as Land Rover continues its electrification journey.
