Renault dealers to honour hot hatch finance offer

Scott Murray · 0 comments

Renault dealers will be honouring a 1% finance offer on model-year 2018 Megane RS 290 hot hatches until the end of 2019 or until they’re all sold out.

The 1% comparison finance rate applies to all RS variants including Sport Manual, Sport EDC, and  Cup Manual, and includes Renault’s three-year capped price servicing, up to four years roadside assistance and a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.

Renault says the offer applies to Megane R.S. 280 MY18 range, and includes the Megane R.S Turbo Sport (Manual and EDC) and the Megane R.S. Turbo Cup.

Renault Australia aftersales and quality director Matthew Wright says dealers are also offering customers  what it described as “class leading service interval” of 20,000km or 12 months (whichever comes first), compared with the 10,000km or 15,000 intervals of rivals.

“We all know that the cost of servicing can be an inconvenience, both from a finance and personal time perspective and this is where Renault Australia truly stands apart from its competitors,” he says.

“Offering three-years capped price servicing and a five-year factory warranty provides peace of mind to customers, especially considering the average Australian driver travels 13,400km each year and some competitors require more frequent servicing,” he explains, referencing the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The Megane R.S. 1.8L Turbo Sport EDC is priced at $50,490 and the Turbo Cup Manual at $48,990, while the Sport Manual is being offered at $45,990.

According to VFACTS sales data provided by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, Megane sales are down considerably as of the end of August 2019, dropping 96.1% with just four reported sales last month, compared with 102 in August 2018. Yearly sales are down 96.7% on just 24 units reportedly sold, against the 732 of 2018 at the end of August.
