Škoda Australia has appointed Megan Moynihan as its new head of sales as the brand prepares for an expanded model range and increased focus on electrification.

Moynihan succeeds Ian Downey, who is returning to Ireland after three years with the company.

She has more than seven years’ experience with the Škoda brand across international and Australian markets, joining Volkswagen Group Australia in 2022 after relocating from Volkswagen Group Ireland.

Most recently, Moynihan served as Škoda Australia’s regional manager, working closely with the dealer network to support retail performance and customer growth. She also played a key role in rolling out battery electric vehicle infrastructure across the brand’s Australian dealer network.

Škoda Australia brand director Lucie Kuhn says Moynihan’s experience makes her well suited to lead the sales team.

“Megan’s deep understanding of the Škoda brand, strong relationships across our dealer network and proven track record of delivering results make her the ideal person to lead our sales operations,” says Kuhn.

“Her experience across both international and Australian markets will be invaluable as we continue to grow the brand and strengthen our position in the market.”

Kuhn also thanked outgoing head of sales Ian Downey for his contribution to the Australian business.

Moynihan says she is looking forward to working with dealers as Škoda expands its line-up.

“This is an exciting time for Škoda Australia, with a strong pipeline of new products and significant opportunities ahead,” says Moynihan.

“I look forward to working closely with our dealer partners to strengthen network performance, support sustainable growth and further expand our presence in the fleet market.”

Škoda says the appointment comes as it prepares to launch new models over the next 12 to 18 months while continuing to grow its electrified vehicle range.
