Polestar has launched a new SUV version of the Polestar 4, offering increased luggage capacity and practicality alongside up to 630km of WLTP range.
The Polestar 4 SUV starts from $73,900 for the Rear motor version and $81,750 for the Dual motor, with first customer deliveries planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Production has already started in Busan, South Korea, with Polestar chief executive Michael Lohscheller saying the new variant expands the appeal of the Polestar 4.
“Polestar 4 SUV broadens the appeal of our most successful model and extends our product offering in one of the industry’s most important segments,” Lohscheller says.
“With more space, more utility and more opportunities for adventure, it stays true to the design, technology and driving experience that define Polestar.”
The SUV builds on the recently updated Polestar 4 coupé but gains a redesigned rear with a straighter roofline and more upright tailgate.
Full-length roof rails provide a dynamic roof load capacity of up to 100kg, while second-row passengers gain an additional 2.5cm of headroom.
Unlike the Polestar 4 coupé, the SUV also features a conventional rear window and rear-view mirror as standard. Polestar’s digital rear-view mirror remains available as an option.
Total storage capacity is 1680 litres across the front and rear luggage compartments. The rear provides 530 litres measured to the seatbacks, increasing to 1665 litres with the 60/40 split rear seats folded.
Two powertrains are offered. The Rear motor produces 200kW and 343Nm, accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds and offers up to 630km of WLTP range.
The Dual motor all-wheel drive produces 400kW and 686Nm, cutting the 0-100km/h time to 3.9 seconds while offering up to 600km of range.
Both use a 100kWh battery with DC charging at up to 200kW and AC charging at up to 22kW in selected markets.
A Performance pack is available for the Dual motor and includes recalibrated ZF active dampers, Brembo brakes and 22-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
“Polestar 4 SUV builds on the dynamic foundation of the recently sharpened Polestar 4 coupé,” Polestar head of driving dynamics Joakim Rydholm says.
“With refined chassis tuning and enhanced steering response, it delivers the confidence, precision and driving engagement that Polestar customers expect, in all driving conditions.”
The new model also introduces a Camping mode, while Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality allows the 100kWh battery to provide up to 3.3kW of power to external equipment through an optional adapter.
Google Gemini is integrated into the vehicle’s Google built-in system, providing conversational voice control, multi-turn dialogue, trip planning and real-time translation.
Polestar says the SUV also has one of the lowest cradle-to-gate carbon footprints in its model range, at 20.2 tonnes of CO2-equivalent for Rear motor versions and 21.1 tonnes for the Dual motor.
