An Australian logistics operator is enjoying a 25% improvement in diesel consumption since it recently took delivery of a new generation Mercedes-Benz Actros to its fleet.
A member of the Perth-based CTI Logistics operation, GMK Logistics has been delivering flooring products to customers since 1962.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks is bringing the world´s first all-electric heavy-duty truck to market, but only 20 units will be available in 2017. Unfortunately, it won’t be seen in Australia just yet.
Following the presentation of the Urban eTruck -with a range of up to 200 km – at the International Commercial Vehicle Show in 2016, the first vehicles will be delivered to customers this year.
“There are no immediate plans for the Urban eTruck in Australia, but it remains an exciting proposition for us in the future,” head of public relations at Daimler Truck and Bus Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific, James Stanford told AutoTalk. Iveco Trucks achieved a combined full year volume growth of over 25% in 2016.
The truck brand says 2016 was a great year thanks to a revitalised product range and growing professional dealer network.

The National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme is within reach of 10,000 accreditation modules completed and 100,000 vehicles accredited.
That’s according to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s (NHVR) quarterly snapshot for October to December 2016.

Scania says Thailand is a key Asian market and it is expanding its industrial and commercial presence in the country.
The Swedish manufacturer is establishing a new assembly facility for trucks and bus chassis as well as a manufacturing plant for truck cabs in the Bangkok metropolitan region.

Toyota Australia is creating a dream toy for grown-ups: a life-size Tonka truck based on a 2.8-litre Toyota Hilux SR5 4×4 Double Cab ute.
The Tonka-inspired Toyota HiLux monster truck is the brainchild of Toyota Australia’s in-house designers, and it will soon become a reality as a one-off, fully driveable concept car.

The website, man.com.au, incorporates separate webpages for trucks and buses, allowing users to easily navigate their area of interest and find key performance and efficiency data for each vehicle.

The Koroit Truck Show in Victoria, is recognising the Australian Trucking Association’s (ATA) Volvo safety truck with its best trade show award 2017.
The award recognises the exhibitor who has the best overall presentation, easiest access to information about their business, and best interaction with the public attending the Koroit Truck show; an annual January event held some 18km north-west of Warrnambool, Victoria.

The U.S-based Diesel Technology Forum says the introduction of a new diesel Ford F-150 pickup and GMC Terrain SUV shows the fuel is still a viable future option for consumers.
Ford used the North American International Auto Show as its platform to introduce an optional new 3-litre diesel engine for the model year 2018 F-150.
