Fiat Ducato set to offer first EV

Fiat Professional has announced it will be taking pre-orders for its first fully electric model later this year.

The new Ducato Electric will launch in 2020 with a pilot scheme to major clients.

The company is yet to release exact details such as range and charging times but it promises to be “developed through an innovative pilot project with no trade-off in terms of load and performance”, it says.

“This version will start with a pilot scheme working with major clients to better grasp the specific need of customer requirements.

“The Ducato will be the first fully-electric Fiat Professional model, designed and developed by the FCA Group.

“The Fiat Ducato has been the European market leader for the last five years, as well as the leading vehicle as a base for motorhomes in Europe, with approximately three in every four motorhomes sold are based on the Fiat Ducato,” the company says.
